Consider Ron's prayer request (via us) submitted. He doesn't have time for that. If you need it submitted some other way than how we requested then just don't worry about it.

I saw the young man with tears rolling down his face in the cold February air. He nervously tried to wipe them away, as he was proud and didn't want anyone to see his grief. He stood tall after he'd carried the casket that held his grandfather who died days before of lung cancer. My son knew he could never joke with his papaw ever again.

You can't put a price on a healthy set of lungs. It's just how much you're willin' to pay.

It's unfortunate that so many people misinterpret or misread what is being said. Also, it is unfortunate that some feel that what is said is directed to one person or another.

In my last post I said that "Every member of Writer's Voice IS on my prayer list. I pray for every person every day when I have my prayer time. I may not know every person by name and I may not know the needs that every person may have, but be assured, every person is prayed for. As I pray, I ask God to bless, heal, meet the needs, and help each person that is a member of Writer's Voice." Therefore I am saying that I daily pray for ALL members of this board. I think that is pretty understandable.

When I said, "If a person has a special need or special prayer request, all is needed is that they send a prayer request to me," I was not directing that comment to any one person in particular. It was directed to ALL members in general.

When I see a need posted here by anyone, such as in Ron's case, whether it is posted by him or by anyone else, I consider it a special request via "you folks," and it is acted upon as a special request. I did not say that Ron needed to send me a prayer request himself or that he had to go to my website to do so.

I apologize if by the way I posted that it seemed to some that I expect people to contact me by sending a personal email or something. As I read what I said, I don't think it looks that way, but perhaps others do.

In the future, I will just read whatever is posted by people, and I will continue to keep everyone in prayer. But since it is evident that I am not capable of posting in such a manner as to try to be helpful to people here without someone getting a misunderstanding from I am saying, then I will refrain from posting anything.

It has been nice visiting with all of you. However, unfortunately, rather than continually upsetting people, I will make this my last post on this or on any board. All of you will remain in my prayers. I do care very much for those of you that I have had the pleasure in getting to know. But at this time, I think it is probably best that I stay off and let you folks have fun without any of my input. Besides, my time is becoming more and more used up with the things I am involved in and I don't think I can be of any service to anyone here, which was what I had hoped to be able to do.

May God bless all of you!

I think Chatty and I may know some hard truths concerning Ron that you do not, and with that knowledge comes a little more defense of his words. There is no need for us to be technical or misunderstanding of each other. Let's just all pray for Ron and leave it at that. I guarantee he needs it.

Preacher, it seems you are always leaving us for one reason or another. Sometimes there are and will continue to be misunderstandings. I wonder if Jesus would just walk away from a portion of his flock whenever someone "ruffled his feathers" so to speak.

In your first post on this subject of asking for prayer, I felt Rons reply was rather insulting towards you. I contacted him personally to find out what was wrong because he is generally so sweet to everyone. I found out the reason for his quick temper and depression and it blew my mind. I am sad for him.

That said Preacher, before turning on your heels and stating, while walking away, you doubt you can help anyone here; are you sure? I for one need your prayers so bad. The situation I find myself in is at times unbearable to the point that I wish I were dead.
I want all the prayers I can get to change my situation and get this heavy weight from around my neck. At least before I had some safety cash put aside but the plumber got all of that. So now I have the weight and expense on my ex being here sponging off of me and no safety net to boot.

Enough about me, I don't know my scripture like I should but I bet those familar with the bible could find something to preach that would show the error of ALL our ways! I do know one saying. Only the rats leave a sinking ship. Or someting like that...

Someone told me once that it is often a good idea to read a post on a message board and then wait to reply. I have taken that advice to heart many times, as my first response often doesn't reflect what I really want to say, but is more of a knee-jerk reaction.

Richard, I hope you won't leave the site; however, that is your choice. I think you have a lot to offer, and in turn, we have a lot to offer you.

Differing opinions and differing interpretations of things that are written are bound to happen, yet if we communicate and clarify our thoughts/words, I believe we can find common ground and form a supportive community.

Ron, you are in my prayers, as is everyone on this forum. Chatty, I am saying special prayers for you. Mel, you, too.

Forgiveness and empathy are great gifts and I have seen these gifts lived out in the people who post on this forum. We are blessed to know one another.

There is a reason of why and how we are all here together at the same time. We shouldn't be short with each other, I include myself in that too. I think we all have our trials and some have them a lot worse. Thank you for all your prayers for me and my sick one, and for Ron, Chatty and everyone. Merri said it best when she said:

"Forgiveness and empathy are great gifts and I have seen these gifts lived out in the people who post on this forum. We are blessed to know one another."

Let's set aside our pettiness and move on.

(Merri I think I told you that, to refrain from posting right away. I called it "emotional posting". I guess I should still try to follow my advice at times.)

I changed my avatar to a picture of the kids praying before a track meet. Thought we could all use the inspiration from the simplicity of it.

Great photo, Mel!

I think you and Don (DJ) both suggested waiting a bit before responding to posts. It has certainly helped me, even though I do slip up now and then. Dang it! Very Happy

It's excellent advice and sometimes I've waited an entire 24 hours before responding. Not so much here though, mostly all our posts are kind and uplifting. We have a bunch of very nice people here as a whole. Very Happy

Thank you, Preacher. Lord knows I need it, too. It's nice to know I am in your prayers. Good luck with your automatic replies. There must be a setting in there that has your email address which is why it responds to you. Maybe you can contact your web server, or email host.
